6:50pm flight from Singapore , with Jetstar.
Luckily i checked in online, and surprisingly, we can choose seats for free!
Chose the seats near to emergency exit, and when we boarded the plane, we smiled widely, coz the seats is spacious enough for long leg ppl.
The flight was delayed, for an hour, and finally reaches Auckland International Airport at 9:05am NZ time.
The kastam here is more troublesome. After u clear the kastam and took your luggage, you have to line up according to passports and declare your luggage.
The police dog will be there waiting to smell your luggage in case there's any drugs.
The first thing we did was to take a quick shower to refresh ourself, after 10 hours journey with not really good place.
Auckland international has a shower room for us to have a quick bath. You can rent a towel from the service centre if you need one.
After we got refreshed, we went to register for BBH backpackers card. The fee is $45, located opposite McDonalds.
There, the lady introduced us to stay at Ponsonby Backpack.
Walked around looking for 2 Degree shop, but there isn't any in the airport.
So, we went down to city to settle our stuffs. According to people there, you can go there with 3 options.
1. Airbus $16/trip
2. Shuttle bus - its just like a taxi, but the vehicle is a van, and u can share with other people
3. Taxi - Fastest but most expensive trip.
We tooked the airbus, and reached at the 1st station. We asked the bus driver how to go our backpack hostel, she directed us to walk and wait for green link.
We were really puzzled, we did't know which bus stop to take for green link. Walked up and down, asking people around, yet we couldn't get the correct way, until I came to a shop, an auntie directed me to take bus from that bus stop.
We took the green link bus to Ponsonby Street, telling the bus driver that we wanna stop to the bus stop nearest to Ponsonby Backpacker.
He was friendly and asked us to get down from the nearest bus stop and walk over.
Walked 4 min, and we reached the hostel. Impressive, looks clean and beautiful.
Too bad, there isn't any dorm left, only double bed, costing at $31, we have no choice and checked in.
Put our luggages and went out for a walk to open Kiwi bank account and IRD account next door.
It took us almost an hour there, with the helpful staff from Kiwi bank.
No photos needed for the application.
But plz prepare your passport, translated driving license, and your working holiday visa along for IRD account.
The church that attracts me
Autumn leaves falling
The building structure
I love the structure of the houses there.
When we walked out, the weather turn windy and cold, so we went back our hostel, grab our jacket and walk to nearest supermarket.
Well, so far the price of the vegetables and fruits aren't cheap as expected. End up we bought nothing for our dinner, but just fresh milk and Weet-Bix for our breakfast tomorrow.
Decided to get a Nandos, with $12.90 for half chicken for both of us.
Walked back to hostel and did the hardest thing, to take bath!!
Was shivering especially when the wind blows.
And now, im sitting at living room online and write this blog and will go back to sleep after done online :)
