Koh Lipe

I've been to Koh Lipe twice. On Nov 2012, and the recent July 2014. Noticed some changes in the island therefore I combine the post together.

Let's start with Nov 2012 trip for 2.

Organized the trip by contacting Grand Station agent to include everything. Below are the details that I booked.

Price: RM 608/pax

The arrangement by them wasn't that good, but we got our refund therefore I don't comment much on their arrangement. That was 2 years ago email, but you could still give it a try if you would like to use their service, as some of my friends do not have bad experience from them.

So I took ferry to Koh Lipe, with air cond and personal seat.

After that, we stopped at the middle of the sea to change to long tail boat. We have to pay 50 baht/person for the transfer to resort. On our way to the resort, this is the photo I manage to take, with the crystal clear water and corals.

Checked in to our hotel. We stayed at Varin Beach Resort and we were quite disappointed with the room. It's just a normal room anyway. Nothing special.

We walked to the walking street to explore.

At the end of the walking street, we could connect to Sunrise Beach. It's so untouched, peace and beautiful over there. 

Walked back to Pattaya beach as it was too hot in the afternoon. We rested by the beach, having beer and read some books. 

For dinner, we went to Walking Street to look for some food. According to some reviews I read, Pooh's Restaurant was quite good so we gave it a try.

We ordered Tom Yam and fried vege.

Food rating 4/5.

And the pineapple juice is so pure!!!

We had our breakfast with seaview.

And get prepared for our snorkeling trip. We chose the 600baht trip with free lunch. There were only 2 couples in the boat. They were from Hong Kong and we are from Malaysia. We spoke Cantonese to communicate and they stayed at Idyllic Resort!! The resort that I wanted to stay so badly!!! It was raining in the middle of the trip, but the weather did not stop us from snorkeling as there is not much strong waves. And the best part is we didn't got tanned!!!

We were so tired that we got some rest at the resort before going out for dinner. We tried some pizza as starter.

And this time we chose for seafood. Prawns, fish and sotong!!! The seafood are so fresh!!!

Food rating 4.5/5

The food was so filling, so we went to get our yogurt.

I couldn't calculate much on the budget for this trip as I didn't pay for any expenses.

Back to the present, which we went in 9.

This time, we planned everything on our own.

We drove from Butterworth to Pak Barra via Wang Kelian immigration checkpoint.

We bought car insurance at Changloon.

We dropped by for WanTan Mee for breakfast. Quite big plate for RM2.50 and taste good as well.

We continued our journey and greeted by beautiful view. The road towards the immigration is windy, hilly and steep. Please drive at least 1.3L car. Luckily I never think of drive my Kancil on my previous trip! LOL

The immigration opened at 8am and we reached there at 7.30am. Waited for our immigration clearance and off we go in Thai!

We went to Tesco to buy 5 cartons of beer!! The boys simply love beer..

We reached Pak Barra around 10am Thai time, and our ferry is at 11:30am Thai time. We went to 7-11 to get some food. Cheese Hot Dog and the yogurt drink (25 baht) is a must for me :D

Waited at the Bundhaya Speedboat office and get to online for a while.

For now, we have to pay extra 20 baht to go in to Koh Lipe. Didn't know when did they start with this.

We got seasick from this boat ride. Feeling so sick and uncomfortable for 1++ hour and finally we reached the platform.

Paid 50 baht for the long-tailed boat to transfer us to Koh Lipe. They dropped us at Sunrise Beach and we had no choice but to get a taxi to our resort.

Checked in to our hotel,

 and straight away jump into the pool. It was so cooling and refreshing after dipping myself into the pool. Great sea view to relax. The pool is clean.

We had our dinner at Bundhaya Resort, but we were too hungry, therefore there's no photo xD

We could have seaview while having breakfast as well. Unfortunately, this resort has limited food. Their food is not enough even though they keep refilling the food.

And before going out to the sea, first let us take some portraits!!

Here we go on the boat..

Our first stop is Koh Hin Ngam with hot black pebble stones.

Don't steal them back!! You will be cursed!!

Sad to see all the rubbish around the island. It wasn't as beautiful as what I saw in blogs last time =((

We went to few islands for snorkeling, I couldn't remember the names but the whole trip was only 500 baht including snorkeling mask, life jacket and lunch.

We continued for 3 more stops of snorkeling.

And I gained the courage to go down without life jacket. :D

After a tiring day, we went to the pool to chill again.

We went to Lipe Walking Street to find some seafood.

Total damage for this dinner is 300 baht.

Don't feel like waking up and leave the resort =((

We had to leave to the speedboat back to Pak Barra pier.

This time the speedboat was quite good. I manage to get a quick nap with no seasick.

Back to Pak Barra pier and off we go back home.

We dropped by Tesco again to buy shampoo since it's only 189 baht for 950ml Sunsilk.

Had our lunch and drove back. Unfortunately, we made wrong turn and we took 2 hours detour to Danok.

It took 30 minutes to move a distance of 2 cars, so we decided to change our checkpoint to Padang Besar.

To our surprise, the clearance is so fast and easy.

Looking forward for next beach trip next year!!! xDD
